Create: Reflect on the needs for your individual Communication Plan. Communication outline
- Welcome email (generic for all courses): Greeting parents, students and school facilitators! My name is Madame Carie Zimmerman. I will be the online teacher for French 3. I am very excited to have the opportunity to get to know you during this course. On August 25 at 7:00pm, you will have the opportunity to attend a live online meeting welcoming you to the course and online learning. I look forward to "seeing" you then and getting to know you this semester.
- Personal notes versus mass communication to stakeholders (appropriate times): Personal notes should be on an individual basis. These can be sent using email or direct message. Mass communication to stakeholders should not contain personal or individual information. These can be sent through a blog or newsletter.
- Stakeholders: All stakeholders should be receive regular communication from the teacher. They should be kept informed of student progress and suggestions for student success.
- School Policies regarding Communication: Personal information should not be shared with others, except based on administrative exceptions. Grades and scores should only be shared with parents and guardians.
- Tools available for effective Communication: Blogs, emails, newsletters such as Smore, direct messages are some of the ways to communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders.
