Students' lives are technology-centered. Sometimes these changes are positive and sometimes they are negative. Cell phones are very powerful psychologically. As teachers we need to make sure that technology is used responsibly. This results in a lack of being able to relate to others. People are interested in controlling their surroundings. People are together but alone because all they do is text or use cell phones. I found her speech very enlightening and thought provoking.

- How have your individual communication skills changed as with the innovations in technology? As a result of technology I have been able to write and analyze what I have written. Then I can rewrite and adjust if necessary. Sometimes texting is a method of communicating that takes precedence over face to face communication.
- How have advancements in technology altered classroom communication? It is now possible to text students using Google Voice or Remind. This is a way that is very comfortable and familiar with students.
- Will these change further? These devices change what we do and who we are. As technology changes, we must change with it.
